Dear Developer,

… After returning from Koh Mak last week I thought I should let you know that the completion of the building work at my house has been most satisfactory.

I thank you and your staff at Goodtime for the way in which you completed the final building work on my house in just two weeks, working long hours whilst I was there. The minor problems with the kitchen were sorted out before I had to leave and all your staff were extremely helpful moving my furniture in to the new rooms…

…I was also very pleased to see how well the resort was maintained during the rainy season when there were no guests staying at Goodtime. Both the gardens and swimming pool were kept in excellent condition and the staff were constantly checking the houses. On three visits to Goodtime resort this year I have not been aware of mayor problems with mine or any of the other owner’s properties. I looked at many properties in Thailand before purchasing my house at Goodtime and still believe I made the right decision. None of the other owner’s houses have been offered for resale all of which were bought before mine, so I am sure that they are all content with their properties…

…On each of my visits the resort has looked better and better. We are all looking forward to returning to our house next season…

Dear Developer,

… It has now gone one year since I first visit Koh Mak for the first time with Per and after that I decided to buy one of your houses…

... I like to do some reflections about the time that has passed since then. First of all I think the Koh Mak and the resort will be a wonderful place to be at and one great investment when it all is finish…

… When I was at the island for the first time we talked about what you want to do whit the resort and island, and for sure everything is not yet finished (I will come back to that later) but so far you and the island has fulfilled and even overcome my expectations. I think that it has been very much improvements in the surroundings and at the resort in total, many friends in Sweden has comment that when they have looked at pictures from the islands from different times I have been there. Like I said I think this will be a most perfect place in a couple of years…

…My house is not finished yet and there are many details that is not yet finished, BUT if I look what has happened in a year I fully understand that thing takes time and you have made much more in just that year than I ever could expected so if not every detail is finished it’s okay whit me, I’m very confident that details will be ready in a short period. Grass and plants takes time to grow, that’s the nature and for sure I want the road to be made but I understand that’s not under your control (remark: the government finished the road in June 2008) Like you wrote in your letter "Dear friend of Good times" your plan was to build 4 houses in a year and now you have built about 25 in a couple of years, so at least I can understand that some of the details not are finished yet…

Best regards

Dear Developer,

General information: All "owners" bought/leased houses build designed and build to Thai standard. Houses were completed in good time. For local circumstance they are in the medium/high price range. For holiday home/"tourist" standards and when compared to what I have seen in the last 10 years they are affordable - I sometimes wonder how profitable (if at all) the build may have been, since this is the 3rd house I've build in Thailand. In terms of available space (living space and garden) the are generous - only comparable to what was build in Samui/Krabi/Phuket 15 years ago. Nowadays builders will not be that generous with space…

Water in general: There are no water problems in Koh Mak, at least not in Good Time. This is quite amazing given the speed of the build and the fact that even in BKK water-shortages are not uncommon. Guess I got lucky.

Electricity: Koh Mak, not being connected to the main power grid, will due to it's remoteness experience power fluctuations. Goodtime has done what he could to ensure power supply - clearly this is in the Governments court to act. Bear in mind that Goodtime has already commented regarding an area of improvement, which is insulating power cables laying in the ground. Here it is important to note that it is better to wait until the road is build as this will allow for putting cable in pipes along the road. I'll wait until that time to have the pile of cables in front of my land removed and the remainder put in pipes. Grass will grow again - no worries there.

Gardens and surroundings: Especially when it come to removing garbage and tending the gardens Goodtime is setting new standards for Koh Mak. Most other resorts have a lot of room for improvement when it come to keeping their surroundings neat and tidy. Complaining about red earth in Thailand is rather entertaining…

… My kids are already asking when we'll go to our home next. Keep the good work up and see you soon!

Best Regards

Dear Developer,

I just want to write a summary of my experiences after my last visit to Koh Mak. We met first time in Koh Mak October 2006. From the first moment I felt you were an honest person with high ambitions for Goodtime Resort. Of course I had a lot of worries for buying a house on Koh Mak before I met you but after a few hours all my worries were gone and I were 100% sure this was a very good investment. I am amazed of how fast you have developed the resort. Since October 2006 there has been a great progress. Almost all houses are finished and the landscaping is very nice with grass and plants almost everywhere. Honestly I didn’t believe it was possible to do all this in less than 2 years.

In December I brought my wife, my sister and her husband including his sister and boyfriend. They were all impressed that everything was made with such a good taste in the resort for plants, decorations and furniture’s.

You haven’t made me disappointed at any time. I feel very safe about contracts, payments and the continuing improvements of Goodtime Resort. I am very happy I am a part of it. My house, Chili House, is very nice. For sure there are many things to improve but that is not in a hurry. Also we can’t try to make everything like European standard. This is a small tropical Island and if I would like everything to be modern and perfect I should stay on the mainland. I am 100% sure that the whole resort will get better and better in the following years.

Let’s hope the government in Trat will continue the work for put cement on the roads which will be a great development for all the house owners as well as for the resort and everybody on Koh Mak that use the roads. I know this is not in your power so I don’t blame you that the road is delayed. (remark: the government finished in June 2008 most of the important roads)

Keep on your good work.

Best Regards

Dear Developer,

at this point I really want to let you and everybody know about my experience doing business with you. Our dream house is almost ready and we will have our first family vacation there this year for Christmas.

When we first came to Ko Mak February 2007 we immediately fell in love with this island. And we saw your project of developing an environmentally and socially sustainable family resort on your forefathers island. And we knew if we ever want to own a piece of land with a tropical house on it that this would be the place to fulfill this dream. Your trustworthy way of dealing with all the little formal details of the project and your commitment to our personal wishes made us feel at the right place. Buying a house from you felt more like becoming part of a group of friends sharing the same dream then doing serious business with a profit oriented real estate professional that you find in so many other places. Its not easy to have a project like this on a small island where every nail has to be brought to. But you stay confident and calm even when everybody pulls at you from different angles. So you can share my e-mail address with anybody who wants to know more details about my experience.

Best Regards

Your Guenter
